Now we have met those goals, and this is where we are...

14-1/2 acres of God's blessings south west of Churubusco, Indiana,
on Hwy 205 just north east of Collins.

On a rise that once was an island, is a grove of trees that shelter a farm house and a shop.  As you drive up the gravel lane, and you are welcomed to a place called "Some-Day".

Flat land, called "muck" surrounds the rise. This muck once was at the bottom of a lake long since drained.  The remaining muck is actually peat that is rich farming ground and has produced potatoes and onions.  In fact the neighboring burg of Collins, Indiana was once the onion capital of America!

The surrounding view includes corn and soybean fields.  The trees are inhabited by owls, raccoons, hawks, and crows.  In the late evening the coyotes occasionally can be seen hunting.

To the east side of our property, is a small tree plantation of over 700 trees that currently grows where what eventually will become a grass landing strip for our airplane (To be built Some-Day).

 

Driving Directions

From Fort Wayne, IN

  1. Take HW 33 north west from the US69 / 930 / HW33 interchange.
  2. Drive 18 miles to Churubusco and at the first (there are only 2 in town) stop light turn left on 205.
  3. Proceed south west for 2.8 miles to 300 N.  Turn right (west) on 300 N and go 1/2 mile to 6116 E 300 N.

Of if you do not mind country roads ~

  1. Take HW 33 north west from the US69 / 930 / HW33 interchange.
  2. Go through the flashing lights at Carroll Road intersection.  Proceed 1.6 miles to 300 N (it only goes to the left). There is a water conditioner company on the right.
  3. Turn left on 300 N and proceed west across highway 205.  1/2 mile beyond 205 to 6116 E 300N.

From Elkhart / Goshen / Ligonier, IN

  1. Take HW 33 south east to 550 E in Whitley County.
  2. Turn right (south) and proceed to 300 N.
  3. Turn left onto 300 N and drive 1/2 mile to 6116 E 300 N.

Or...

  1. Take HW 33 south east to Churubusco and at the second light turn right on 205.
  2. Proceed south west for 2.8 miles to 300 N.
  3. Turn right (west) on 300 N and go 1/2 mile on 300 N to 6116 E 300 N.

From Columbia City, IN

  1. Take highway 205 north east from Columbia City, towards Churubusco.
  2. 1/2 mile past Collins, turn left on 300 N.
  3. On 300 N go 1/2 mile to 6116 E 300 N.
